1330 Boylston in the Fenway area to break ground next week

According to the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s latest press release on their website, the $100 milllion mixed-use project at 1330 Boylston is slated to break ground sometime next week.  This project will consist of an upgrade for Fenway’s Community Health Center, complete with a pharmacy, 25,000 square feet of street level commercial space, and approximately 215 residential units (5% of which will be designated “affordable”).

This project will be one of the many to be constructed in the redevelopment of the Fenway area.  What has really pushed a lot of these projects forward has been the success of the Trilogy luxury rental apartments which residents began occupying this summer.  The same developer of this project was behind the success of the Trilogy.

The Red Sox also hope to have their hand in some development in the area including on the site of the McDonalds on Boylston and the adjacent parking lot.

I’m working on trying to find some renderings for the project and will post as soon as I do.

My Thoughts:  I think this will be a continuing trend for this neighborhood.  It is a great place for students of BU and young professionals to live who have been priced out of the downtown market but want to be within a few minutes cab or T ride of the downtown attractions.  I can’t wait to see where this neighborhood is in the next few years and my suggestion is to buy around there now if you can, because after these projects are done you are bound to see some good appreciation.
